Comments:  The handle is made of rattan and the bent part has some root stubbs near the end. The blade passes thru and some wedges hold it in place the edge of the blade faces away from the end.  From the Cambodia/Laos/Vietnam area.  Note the strong resemblance to the axes carried by the horsemen in the 12th cen. Khmer (Angkor) relief sculpture.
